Summer League

Updated Thursday April 6, 2017 by Basketball.

CBAA is happy to announce that beginning in early April we will be accepting registration for teams and individuals that are looking to play and sharpen their game during the summer of 2017.  Registration for the CBAA Basketball Summer League for 2017 will be online again this year.

It is basketball the way it ought to be played in the summer, outdoors. While the CBAA Summer Basketball League is not quite the Sonny Hill League or the world famous Rucker Summer League, it is a great place to sharpen your game, work as a team and have fun outdoors in the summer time.

Last year over 130 teams played in the league at the travel and intramural level. Registration is open to travel, CYO and local boys and girls that wish to put a neighborhood or school team together.  The league fees are $600 for teams with a minimum of 12 players (if you do not register with 12 the league MAY assign players to your team) and $90 for individual players. The league will consists of:  boys 3rd/4th grade league, 5th/6th grade league, 7th/8th grade league, 9th/10th grade league and 11th/12th grade High School league; and girls 3rd/4th grade league, 5th/6th grade league, 7th/8th grade league and Girls HS league.  (All grades are what the player will be entering into in the Fall of 2017)  Each grade level will be broken down into an “A” division (travel) and a “B” division (intramural).

Registration will open online the first week in April and close on May 15th.   The season will start the final week in May and conclude on the weekend of July 29th and 30th. All games will be played during the week at the Gary Ockenhouse Courts at Herbst Field in Plumstead, PA and Hanusey Park in Plumstead, PA.  Game times are 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 (at Herbst) and 6, 7, 8 (at Hanusey)  . Make up games will be played on the weekends.

Please contact league director Glen Ockenhouse for more information.
