Dear Buckingham United and CBAA Soccer Families,

We are pleased to announce that after a lengthy nationwide search, we have hired Costa Manolopoulos as our new Director of Coaching. Costa’s extensive background, experience and love of the game will make him an asset to our club. In addition to serving in the military for 15 years, Costa has a degree in Engineering, and holds multiple coaching licenses and diplomas from several countries, including USSF “A”, UEFA “B”, and CSA “B”. With more than 20 years of player/coach experience, he brings leadership and a deep desire to provide the best possible soccer education to both players and coaches.

“I hope to bring unparalleled support and education to Buckingham United’s youth development programs and look forward in meeting and working with all the volunteer coaches, Technical staff, Board members and of course all the young inspiring athletes at all levels,” said Manolopoulos.

Please join us in welcoming him to the Club! You can view his resume and Coaching Philosophy here.

Bree Benedict continues as our Assistant Director of Coaching and Lead Technical Director. Most of you know Bree, either as a coach or as an outstanding goalkeeper, first at CB West and then at the collegiate level. Over the last two years she has directed and facilitated he Buckingham Academy Program, the BUSC Goalkeeper Training Program, and the CBAA DOC Soccer Camps.

Costa, along with Bree, will be spending time in the “off-season” working with our coaching/training staff and our soccer committee. He is looking forward to training your players and getting to know our club. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have.

Our soccer club has become the regional leader in affordable, youth soccer player development. Our prior Directors of Coaching have created a solid foundation of excellence in player development; we believe Costa will continue in that tradition as we move into the future.

We are confident that Costa will continue in that tradition as we look to the future.

Thank you and Happy Holidays,

Your CBAA Soccer Committee
